Erechtheion Pullover: Knitting Architecture: 20 Patterns Exploring Form, Function, and Detail

언제였는지 정확하게 기억은 나지 않지만 아마도 2012년즈음 이었으리라. 디자이너이자 편집자인 Tanis Gray에게 메일을 받았다. 건축학 적인 디자인의 핸드 니팅 프로젝트를 모아 편집해 출간할 예정인데 관심이 있으면 아이디어를 보내 달라고 했다. 그때 몇 개의 스케치를 보냈고 그 중 하나가 선택 되었다.

내가 사는 곳은 캐나다의 시골이지만 동네 이름은 아테네 Athens다. 캐나다의 아테네에 사는 내가 그리스 아테네의 신전을 보고 영감을 얻어 시도한 디자인이라니 왠지 운명 같지 않은가?

단행본을 받았을 때의 기분이란 정말 최고였다. 옥의 티는 서포트를 받은 실이 생각보다 무거워서 하늘하늘한 느낌을 주는 데는 실패 한 것 같다.

The front and back pieces are knit flat, then seamed.
The sleeves are the star of the show-by picking up and knitting stitches at the armhole edge, then increasing out in a circular fashion, sleeves are created with a beautiful, dramatic drape that will look appealing on any figure. Support structures on many temples, created in the form of female figures, used drapery to flatter and contour the body, giving off a hint of sexuality and fertility.

Double strands of lace weight for body, single strand of lace weight for each sleeve. (It will show dramatic sleeves very well.)
