샘플을 되돌려 받아서 아직 까지 종종 입곤 하는 스웨터다. 내 게는 모델이 입은 것과 같은 오버 사이즈 핏이나 슈러그 느낌은 나지 않지만 여름인지 가을인지 헷갈리는 계절 저녁에 내 어깨를 따듯하게 해준다.
핸드 니팅을 위한 도안 작성을 할 때 늘 염두에 둬야 하는 것은 실의 성분과 굵기다. 디자인과 소재가 갈 어우러져야 멋진 완성 작품이 탄생한다. 처음 샘플링을 위한 실을 받았을 때 불만이 많았다. 실이 여름 카디건을 제작 하기에는 너무 무거웠기 때문이다. 이 후 다른 소재의 실로 다시 만들 때 그때야 왜 편집장이 이 실을 제시 했는지 이해 했다. 새로 만들던 모 소재의 실은 버려졌다. 10년을 떠도, 그리고 디자인해도 여전히 소재는 어렵다.

Yarn Fibra Natura Good Earth (53% cotton, 47% linen; 204 yd 187 m/3 1/2 oz 100 g): #103 desert, 7 (8, 9, 10, 11) skeins. Yarn distributed by Universal Yarn.
Needles Size 7 (4.5 mm): straight, 32” circular (cir), and set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Marker (m); removable m; stitch holders; tapestry needle; six 7/8” buttons.
Gauge 20 sts and 25 rnds = 4” in St st.
Worked from the top down with a wide collar that spans the upper back and transitions into the fronts, the Inlet Cardigan is fluid and contemporary. An interesting linen blend grants the piece a subtle texture.
